An interesting shape, an exciting color combination or an abstract composition can inspire me. My paintings starts with orchestrating shapes; combining them in such a way that they compliment rather than compete with each other.

“Think twice and paint once” is a game plan that works for me. A painting isn’t done until it develops a lyric feel. The subject is frequently fractured or partially repeated to create a visual symphony. Often, the composition takes as long to create as the work takes to paint.

Often asked “How long does it take you to do a piece?”; there is no set answer. Paintings are like children, some are easier to raise than others. All create a personal emotional response or they become something else. Creating art is my addiction and connecting with the viewer spells success.
