My name is Laurie Stevens Luley. I started making beaded jewelry many years ago, and I often incorporated beautiful lampwork glass beads in my designs. These beads fascinated me so much that about five years ago, I decided to learn how to make these beads myself. I was living in Texas then, and many hours of practice in my (usually very hot!) garage glass studio resulted in a new delight in my life. I soon fell in love with the exquisite colors and exciting chemistry that are a part of working with glass.

 As much as I love lampworking, it is important to me to constantly create jewelry also. Sometimes it is so difficult to put my favorite bead creations up for sale. They come out of the kiln and I’m already designing a piece of jewelry around them before they’re even off the mandrel – but I know I have to share with other beaders too!

 Now my husband and I live in Ohio, and I have a new -- and much more comfortable -- glass studio in the basement. I miss Texas, but I'm getting to know some beautiful little towns and some really great people here in central Ohio.
