Having been a graphic designer for over 18 years I found myself looking for something that expanded my creativity beyond commercial design projects. I began working with glass in 2008 and fell in love with the challenges as well as the possibilities that glass offered. I use the process known as Lampworking or Flameworking. In simplest terms this means that I make each individual bead in the flame of a torch by winding a gather of glass onto a stainless steel mandrel. I use heat, gravity and the natural tendency of the glass to create the shape of the bead. I apply my graphic design and color expertise to each bead and to every piece of jewelry that I make. Each piece is its own composition. I love to experiment with color and combine elements that create interesting textures and shapes that are beautiful to wear. All of my beads are kiln annealed for durability and strength so that they can be enjoyed for a very long time.

I graduated from The Columbus College of Art & Design with a BFA Magna Cum Laude in 1991. My home and studio are in Westerville, Ohio where I live with my husband Eric and children Benjamin & Christian.
